Startup and layout

Launch at login

Silent launch at login starts LaunchNext in the background after you log in, without forcing the window open.

Layout lock

Lock layout prevents drag-and-drop rearrangement until turned off. This is the safest way to avoid accidental changes.

Quick refresh

Show quick refresh button adds a fast refresh entry on the main UI, useful if you frequently install or remove apps.

CLI access

Enables terminal access for LaunchNext CLI/TUI features. Keep it off unless you actively use terminal commands.

See CLI and TUI for command details.

Application icon

You can replace the LaunchNext app icon from this tab.

  • Choose... supports .icns, .png, .jpeg, and .tiff
  • Restore default reverts to the stock icon
  • 512x512 icon files usually look best

Data management

Export data

Export Data creates an export package of your LaunchNext data and preferences.

Import data

Import Data restores from an exported folder. You can choose what to import, such as layout, appearance, app sources, hidden list, shortcuts, gesture settings, and custom titles.

Import the system Launchpad

Import System Launchpad pulls your system Launchpad layout and folder structure into LaunchNext.

Apply the classic layout preset

Apply Classic Layout Preset applies a macOS 26 style preset layout and then appends remaining apps.

Bottom action buttons

  • Refresh: re-scan and re-render current data
  • Reset Layout: removes folders, saved order, and layout customization after confirmation
  • Reset Appearance Tab Settings: restores visual settings without changing pages, folders, or app order
  • Quit: exit LaunchNext

  1. Click Refresh.
  2. Check your grid size and spacing in Appearance.
  3. Confirm you imported the right source in Data Management.

I reset by mistake
